Τη Δευτέρα 25 Ιούλη στην Ουάσινγκτον η κηδεία του Επαμεινώνδα Κοψιδά

Απεβίωσε το Σάββατο 16 Ιουλίου του 2016 στο Rockville σε ηλικία 79 ετών ο Επαμεινώνδας Κοψιδάς, γιος του Νικολάου και της Ευδοξίας, που γεννήθηκε στις 16 Ιανουαρίου 1937 στην Καρυά Λευκάδας και μετανάστευσε το 1966 μαζί με τη γυναίκα του Κατίνα στην Αμερική.

Η εξόδιος ακολουθία θα τελεστεί στον ορθόδοξο Ιερό Καθεδρικό Ναό της Αγίας Σοφίας στην Ουάσινγκτον (36th St. & Massachusetts Ave) τη Δευτέρα 25 Ιουλίου στις 10.00 το πρωί και η κηδεία του θα γίνει σε στενό οικογενειακό περιβάλλον . Η οικογένεια επιθυμεί αντί στεφάνων να κατατεθούν χρήματα στο Montgomery Hospice.

On Saturday, July 16, 2016, at his home in Rockville, Md. Born on January 16, 1937 in the village of Karya, in Lefkada, Greece, the son of Nikolaos and Evdoxia, Mr. Kopsidas immigrated to the Washington, D.C. area in 1966 with his wife Katina (Kathy), daughter Evdoxia and his brother Aristides to join his two other brothers Apostolos and Theodore who emigrated earlier. They were later joined by their younger brother Vasilios. Mr. Kopsidas, with his brother Apostolos, was the co-owner of La Gondola restaurants in Rockville and Gaithersburg, Md. Later, he was the owner of Nickelby’s Restaurant in Germantown, Maryland. A farmer in Greece, he never lost his love of the land and spent endless hours in his yard. He also never lost his love for his birthplace and spent many summers in Lefkada, Greece visiting his family home. He was devoted to his extended family, Greek heritage and the Orthodox faith.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Katina, his daughter Evdoxia of Rockville, Md and son Christos of Washington, D.C, his brothers Apostolos (Evdokia) and Aristides (Eleni), numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Theodore (Maria) and Vasilios (Argyroula). May his memory be eternal. Friends will be received at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2815 36th St, NW, Washington, DC on Monday, July 25 from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Montgomery Hospice (www.montgomeryhospice.org).
